News & Important Dates

We are so proud of our students and all of the hard work that they have put into distance learning. None of us chose this, but you have all risen to the occasion.  As the school year winds down, there are a few things that we want to make you aware of.

Please be sure that you are checking grades on Portal regularly (1-12th grade)and keeping up with your distance learning assignments.

In lieu of semester exams, the week of May 18-22 will be reserved as a “Make-Up Week” for incomplete distance learning assignments. Students who have completed all of their work on time will be finished with their work for the school year on Friday, May 15.

Important dates for 1-6th grade:

Wednesday and Thursday, May 20 – 21(1-6th grades)

  • Packet Drop-off 3 for completed assignments from May 11-15, any make-up work, library books, Yonder pouches (6th grade only), and non-consumable books. You will receive a message from your section teacher regarding what books you need to return.

Important dates for 7-12th grade:

Monday, May 18:  (Grades 7, 8, and 10)

  • Locker clean-out and Yondr return 8am to 6pm. (Remember that there is a $10 fee for lost locks and a $20 fee for lost/damaged Yondrs.)
  • Book buy back (parents only) is in the bookstore from 1pm to 6pm.

Tuesday, May 19: (Grades 9 and 11)

  • Locker clean-out and Yondr return 8am to 6pm. (Remember that there is a $10 fee for lost locks and a $20 fee for lost/damaged Yondrs.)
  • Book buy back (parents only) is in the bookstore from 1pm to 6pm.

Please Note: If you have children in multiple grade levels, you do not have to come both days.  Choose the day that works best for you.

It is extremely disappointing for all of us to end the school year in this way, but we believe this to be the best and safest option for our families at this time. All of our Faith family is continually in our prayers. Please let us know if we can help you in any way as we move forward.

Frequently Asked Question for School Operations During COVID-19 Crisis

Faith Academy is tracking news and information about the spread of COVID-19 in the Mobile area as well as our state of Alabama. Our first priority is keeping our students, faculty, staff, and community safe.  We will provide weekly updates on our website concerning the virus. Current families will continue to receive emails with specific information.

Is School Cancelled?

No, school is still in session through our “distance-learning” plan. All teachers and staff are working. The last day of school for Seniors is May 8, and the last day of school for all other students is May 22.

Are we still having graduation?

We still plan to celebrate our seniors and award their diplomas. More information will be released soon about our plans for a ceremony.

What about school tuition?

Faith Academy is a tuition-based school. Our teachers and staff are working very hard to provide the best Christian education possible.  We know COVID-19 has affected many families. As a result, there have been questions about tuition and tuition payments. Although education is being provided in a non-traditional format, tuition will be due as regularly scheduled. If parents are out of work or experiencing financial hardship, please communicate with administration as soon as possible.  We are a “Faith Family”, and we will work with families on an individual basis.

Our school encompasses a student’s entire academic journey, from K3 to 12th grade, so our students have the unique opportunity to grow with us from the very beginning of their education until the end.  The family atmosphere at Faith Academy engages our students academically and enriches them both spiritually and socially.

Faith Academy provides opportunities for all of our students to find their place—whether that be through the arts or technology, on a stage or behind the scenes, on the field or in the engineering workshop, serving others or leading their peers, there is truly something for everyone.

Not only do we offer honors, AP, and dual enrollment classes through the University of Alabama, our graduation rate is 100%.  Nearly 70% of our students receive scholarship money, and the average ACT score for our college-preparatory students is a 27.

The ultimate mission of Faith Academy is to help our students identify their purpose by learning who they are in Christ, utilizing their God-given talents, and living out their personal callings so that not only do they become successful after they graduate, they also live fulfilled lives.

We offer more than a dozen different sports for both girls and boys at Faith Academy with competition in some areas beginning in the 3rd grade.  Students at Faith Academy learn more than simply the rules of the game.  Our winning tradition is based upon the principles of teamwork, respect, initiative and honoring God above all else.

Not only do we emphasize academic excellence, but we also focus on spiritual growth.  Our students grow through daily Bible classes, chapel services, mission trips, and opportunities to serve within our own community.  Our staff meets each morning to pray for our students and serves alongside them at home and abroad.
