Missions and Community Outreach
Hearts for Missions
Hearts for Missions reached out to hearts in Africa this summer. The team, led by Mr. Woody Godwin, consisted of 17 adults, students and alumni. The group traveled to Ghana, West Africa for 16 days in June. While there, they planted two churches and held evangelistic services in several other villages. The group plans to return next year. If you are interested in joining the team, contact Mr. Godwin at 633-7267.
Operation Christmas Child
For the fourth consecutive year, Faith Academy has participated in a heart-warming, spirit-lifting ministry called Operation Christmas Child. Set up by Franklin Graham, the goal of Operation Christmas Child is to touch the lives of millions of deprived children though gift-filled shoe boxes and the message of the gospel.
This past school year, Faith Academy contributed 775 shoe boxes sent in by students, parents, and faculty. These combined with those given by Life Church brought our ministry total to over 1250 boxes! Many teachers utilized this ministry to show the blessings that giving can bring. The students brought in toys, toiletries, empty shoe boxes and wrapping paper, then assembled their boxes together in class. It was a fun time for everyone involved!
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the faithful help of our volunteers. These volunteers collected, checked, loaded, and delivered the boxes to the designated drop-off site. Our special thanks goes out to those volunteers and to all who contributed to the ministry, but most of all, we thank God for all that He has done and for what He will do in this new school year.
Matthew 25:40b, "Verily I say unto you, in as much as ye have done it to one of the least of my brethren, ye have done it to me.
Worship Team
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my thoughts…
The heart of worshiper is found in the realization of who we are and who God is. Faith Academy Chapel band knows where it stands as a band, but also as individuals, when in the presence of God Almighty. Our purpose can be summarized in two words, “new beginnings”. It is the place of worship, a place of truth, where God gives us our new beginnings. He cannot do this until we realize where we currently are, because how can we begin anew if we don’t see that we are already at the end of our rope? The heart of the band is to see people come to a place of humility before God, and sincerely decide to take the first step of their new journey when they get up off their knees at the altar.
