Faith Academy Athletics
Faith offers a wide range of sports, beginning at the elementary level with intramural sports and advancing all the way to varsity level sports in high school. Faith Academy has distinguished itself by winning the AISA's Chairman's Award (school with most outstanding athletic achievements) every year for the past four years.
Faith Academy students have been routinely offered athletic scholarships from a wide range of colleges and universities including Auburn University and the University of South Alabama.
Football, Baseball, Basketball, Track, Cross Country, Soccer, Swimming and Golf are offered for boys while Volleyball, Fast-pitch Softball, and Basketball, Track, Cross Country, Soccer, Golf, Swimming and Cheerleading are offered for girls. These sports are also offered for junior high and freshman students.

Elementary Intramural Activities
Grades 1 - 6

Students will learn skills during daily P.E. classes and participate in the intramural games on the following Saturdays:

The following competitive sports will be offered at the elementary level during the school year:

The team can only progress with love and respect. Build young men of character. Demonstrate class and humility. Create an environment conducive to making positive christ-like life choices, one in which all can be a part of and contribute to.
Football competes at the 3rd and 4th grade, 5th and 6th grade, middle school, junior varsity, and varsity levels.
Coach Matt Seymour has over eighteen years of coaching experience under his belt. He coached extremely successful seasons at Baker High School (3 years), UMS-Wright (8 years), and Faith (7 years), all as the assistant varsity baseball coach. While he was at UMS-Wright his team won the state championship of 1999. While at Faith Academy, Coach Seymour has helped the Rams earn two 5A Area Championships (2012 and 2013) and the 2008 AISA state championship. Along with the numerous team awards, three of the Faith players made All County, and five received scholarships within this last year (2013).
Not only is Coach Seymour a seasoned coach, but also an experienced teacher, with over fifteen years in the classroom. He currently resides in Mobile with his wife Lori, who also teaches at Faith, and his three children, Maddie (14), Jay (10), and Gracie (7). Team Mission Statement
The Faith Academy Rams Boys Basketball Program is committed to providing young men the unique opportunity to play the game of basketball on a high level in a Christian environment while also striving for excellence spiritually, academically and athletically. Faith basketball stresses a Christ-centered "TEAM" concept that seeks to instill character in each individual player as well as fundamental instruction and skill development related to the game of basketball. It is desired that every young man in our program leaves Faith Academy as a Kingdom Leader, focused and prepared to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
Head Coach John Price
John Price will enter his 8th year as Head Coach of the Rams and 17th year of coaching in 2014-2015 season and oversees all levels of the boy's basketball program in grades 5-12. Coach Price has combined experience on the high school and college levels in the states of Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama and an overall record of 305-117 in fourteen high school seasons as a head coach for a winning percentage of .723. In that 14 year span years his teams have achieved eleven 20-win seasons, three state championships, two state Runner-ups and nine State Final Fours in addition to a HoopsUSA Top 25 National ranking in 2004 and win over national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, VA.
Coach Price's overall record in seven seasons at Faith Academy stands at 157-53 for a winning percentage of .750. Coach Price has been named "Coach of the Year" eleven times in his fourteen years as a high school head coach. In 2013 he was named 5A State Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association and Mobile Coach of the Year by the Mobile Press Register. Since 2007 he has been named 5A Coach of the Year by the Mobile Optimist Club in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 1A-5A Coach of the Year by the Mobile Coaches Association in 2010, 2011 2012, 2013 and 2014.
In fourteen high school seasons Coach Price has had players play for 11 different colleges and universities on the NCAA Division 1, NAIA and Junior College levels. Those colleges are: The University of Alabama, Middle Tennessee State University, University of Tennessee - Chattanooga, East Tennessee State University, William Carey, University of Mobile, Cumberland University, Faulkner University, Trevecca University, Chipola Community College, Volunteer State Community College and Bishop State Community College.
Faith Point Guard, Petey McClain (2009-2012) was the first player in Faith boy's basketball history to sign a NCAA Division-1 scholarship with East Tennessee State University where he has started the last two years and James Davis (2011-2014) is the second Faith player in school history to sign a full scholarship to the University of Mobile.
In six seasons as a 5A member of the AHSAA in Area 1, the Rams have an overall record of 138-47 for a .750 winning percentage. In those six seasons the Rams have advanced to the playoffs every year winning three consecutive Regional championships (2012, 2013, 2014), five consecutive Area Championships(2010-2014), advancing to the Regional tournament five years in a row and playing in the 5A State Final-Four for three straight years (2012,2013,2014).
As a college assistant, Coach Price gained a great reputation in player skill development at Auburn University-Montgomery and Faulkner University. In 2006-2007, his Faulkner University team won the SSAC Conference Championship and advanced to the national Final-Four in Kansas City, Missouri - finishing 3rd in the national Top 25 poll. Coach Price is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a degree in Theology and teaches Bible in addition to being the Dean of Students at Faith Academy. He and his wife Sarah have three children and reside in Mobile.

Faith Academy basketball has an intense six week summer program for grades 7-12 that begins in June and runs through mid-July. Individual skill development is stressed on all levels as grades 7-12 practice 3-4 times per week for six weeks. Practices are voluntary and are held Monday - Thursday from 11:00-3:00 p.m. All grade levels in 9-12 begin weight room strength and conditioning sessions during the summer off-season program and lift year round. The primary goal of the summer off-season program is to instill a work-ethic and mindset in each player that if success is the desired result of the individual and team, hard work and time investment is a MINIMUM prerequisite.
Faith Academy is a member of the AHSAA and competes on the 5A level.

Coach Sherrod has coached the cross country team for the last four years. We joined the AHSAA the first year that I coached. The girls' team has finished in the top three teams in the section every year since we joined. That has qualified us for the State meet each year. This year we set a new school record for the girls in 5K. The boys' team has qualified for State one year, coming in third in the section that year. We also set a new school record for the guys' 5K this year.

Head Coach Rae Lynn Dennis

Rae Lynn Dennis enters her 6th season as Head Coach of the Lady Rams and oversees all levels of the girl's softball programs grade 5-12. Coach Dennis has seventeen years coaching experience, which includes coaching elite travel softball teams and assisting the coaching staff at Faith for three years prior to becoming the head coach in 2010. Coach Dennis' overall record in six seasons at Faith Academy stands at 138-87 (.613). Coach Dennis captured her 100th win April 6, 2013 against Sp. Fort. Dennis was also named Coach of the Year by Mobile Press Register in 2011.
In six seasons as a 5A member of the AHSAA in Area 1, the Lady Rams hold an overall record of 163 - 101 for a .617 winning percentage. In all six seasons the Lady Rams advanced to the playoffs, winning three Area Championships. All six seasons the Lady Rams advanced to the Regional Tournament, winning the South Regional Championship in 2011 and Runner-Up in 2013. Two of the six seasons the Rams made an appearance in the AHSAA 5A State Championship, placing 3rd in 2011 and 4th in 2013. Coach Dennis has been the Elementary Computer teacher at Faith for five years working with students K5-6th Grade. She and her husband (Rusty) have two children, Jason and Amy, daughter-in-law Heather and one grandchild Ansley.
Faith Lady Rams Softball has a summer workout program for grades 7 - 12 begins the first Monday in June and continues three days per week(Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays), in one and one-half hour sessions. It is recommended that all athetes attend 14 of the 18 workouts scheduled through the summer allowing our athletes to continue weight room strength and conditioning year around.

Athletic Awards and College Commitments/Scholarships
2014 - Two athletes were honored at the All County Banquet: Tyler Winkler and Tiffany York. Winkler also received Faith Academy Athlete of the year award. Tyler Winkler signed with University of Mobile and Brooklyn Trammell signed with Bishop State Community College. Tiffany York was named to the 2014 Press Register Coastal Alabama- All Regional Softball team (3B). Tyler Winkler was also named as Honorable mention. York and Winkler were named honorable mention by the 2014 ASWA All-State Softball team for Class 5A.
2013 - Three athletes honored at the All County Banquet: Royce Smith, Brooklyn Trammell, Tyler Winkler. Haley Nichols signed athletic scholarship with Faulkner State Community College. Tyler Winkler was selected and participated in the North/South All Star Game.
2012 - Three athletes honored at the All County Banquet: Haley Nichols, Royce Smith, Tyler Winkler. Michele Moore joined Troy University's Softball Program.
2011 - Three athletes honored at the All County Banquet: Amy Dennis, Michele Moore and Taylor Stewart. Dennis was also selected Runner-Up Athlete of the Year at the All County Banquet. Dennis signed with University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and she also played in the North/South All Star game her Junior year.

With Elite Eight Tournament appearances every year since entering into the Alabama High School Athletic Association in 2008-2009 as a 5A school, the tradition of excellent volleyball continues at Faith Academy. We are proud of our Final Four appearances in 2009 and 2010, and of our first AHSAA State Championship in 2009.
Faith named Mrs. Heather Nezat as head varsity volleyball coach in the spring of 2013. Coach Nezat is in her second year as head coach. She is a Faith alumni, and has taught at Faith for eight years. She spent five years as the middle school volleyball coach, as well as one year as varsity assistant, before taking the reigns as head coach. Coach Nezat is married to Kris Nezat, and they have two children – Kiersten (15) and Brett (13). Nezat is assisted by Coach Jacquie Dooley and Coach Jessica Phillips on the varsity level.
In 2013, the Lady Rams advanced to the second round of AHSAA Super Regionals. Corrine Cameron received the Kiwanis Female Athlete of the Week during the season, and Corrine and Morgan Reaves were chosen as All County Athletes for Mobile County.
The Lady Rams attended the University of South Alabama team camp in 2013, and attended UAB team camp in the summer of 2014. Faith is proud to offer volleyball teams at the following levels: Junior Varsity (Head Coach Jacquie Dooley), 7th and 8th grade level (Head Coach Claire Langham -Faith alumni), and the 5th and 6th grade level (Head Coach Brooke Smith – Faith Alumni).

2010-2011 was our first year to have swimming at Faith Academy. Even with the newness of the program, the team did great, and they represented Faith Academy well.
