Course of Study
Faith Academy offers Standard Diplomas, College Preparatory with Advanced Academic Endorsement Diplomas, and College Preparatory with Advanced Career/Technical Endorsements. After carefully deciding which diploma you are seeking, make your course selections. In order to facilitate scheduling and to keep classes balanced, students must stay within their chosen course of study. Exceptions will be made, but on an individual basis and for valid reasons only. All students must have 28 credits in order to graduate.
Course of Study documents for 7th through 12th grade may be downloaded from the Documents and Forms page.
Dual Enrollment
Kick off your college career with this customized dual enrollment program developed exclusively for private-schooled and home-schooled students. TROY’s ACCELERATE students enjoy the advantages of earning college credit while still in high school. Read more about the Dual Enrollment program on the Troy University web site.
Graduation Requirements
Faith Academy offers three types of diplomas: standard, advanced with technical endorsement, and advanced with academic endorsement. All three diplomas require 28 carnegie units. Additionally, those students who are working toward the advanced diplomas are required to have a 3.5 weighted average over a four year period, (9th–12th). Honors classes receive five quality points as opposed to the usual four for regular classes. For students vying for valedictorian or salutatorian, remember, we use ACT composite score as a tie breaker. Also, the GPA’s are computed according to letter grades, not numerical averages.
A copy of the graduation requirements may be downloaded from the Documents and Forms page.
College Scholarship Information
Guidance counselors see to it that juniors and seniors take the ACT not only for college acceptance but also for scholarship opportunities as well. Students may register online or stop by the office to pick up a registration packet. During the school year, guidance counselors conduct personal interviews with students in order to get an idea about what they would like to do after graduating from Faith Academy.
